Our Purpose: In response to the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, we seek to carry out His Great Commission of making disciples (Matthew 28:19-20). While our focus is on our local community, we will reach out purposefully with the gospel, seeking to extend our ministry in surrounding communities and throughout the world (Acts 1:8).
We will hold forth the Word of Life :
* by inviting people to faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
* through worship of believers assembled together.
* through discipleship equipping one another to maturity in faith, life and service
* through fellowship of believers in meaningful relationships with God and man
* through missions sending believers all over the world making Him known.
Our Core Values:
The Word (Scripture): we believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word to all people, and so we teach, preach, honor and obey the Scriptures.
* See 2 Timothy 3:16: All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness
Life ( Salvation): we believe the gospel of Jesus Christ is God’s true and only message of salvation for humanity, and so we share it actively and redemptively, through our words, deeds and relationships, both locally and around the world.
* See Romans 1:16: I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.
The Word (Son): we believe that Jesus Christ is God’s one and only Son, and so we worship Him and seek to be like Him both individually and corporately.
* See Colossians 1:18: Jesus Christ is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
Community (service): we believe that Christ has called Christians into community with one another, and so we love, serve, care for and disciple one another.
* See John 13:34: Jesus said, A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
Unity : we believe that the core truths of Christianity, as affirmed in the early creeds and reaffirmed in the Protestant creeds, define and unite us more deeply than any particular denominational distinctives, and so we guard our unity on essentials while maintaining a loving acceptance of others’ views on less essential matters.
See Ephesians 4:3-6: Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit-- just as you were called to one hope when you were called -- one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
